A New Focus: Putting Print Design at the Heart of What I Do

Over the years, I’ve worked across a wide range of creative projects, from branding and digital graphics to photography and promotional design. I’ve enjoyed all of it, but the more work I’ve done, the clearer one thing has become.

Print is where my real passion is.

There’s something about creating a design that becomes a physical object that has always appealed to me. A brochure you can flick through. A menu sitting on a table. A business card passed from one person to another. A promotional advert printed in a magazine. These are the kinds of projects I find the most rewarding.

So, moving forward, I’m putting a much stronger focus on print design and the physical marketing materials that help businesses present themselves professionally.

Why Print?

We live in a world dominated by screens, social media and digital advertising, but I don’t think that makes print less important.

In many ways, it makes good print design even more valuable.

A well-designed brochure can sit with a customer long after a meeting has finished. A menu helps shape someone’s first impression of a restaurant before they’ve even ordered. A business card can be a small but powerful reflection of a brand. A strong promotional advert can still grab attention in a crowded magazine, newspaper or printed campaign.

Good print has a sense of permanence to it.

You can hold it, keep it, display it and interact with it in a way that simply isn’t possible with something that disappears with the next scroll.

That physical side of design is something I’ve always loved.

What I’ll Be Focusing On

My work will now centre much more heavily around professional print and marketing design, including:

Brochures and catalogues, menus and wine lists, business cards and stationery, promotional adverts, flyers, posters, product literature and other printed marketing materials.

I’ll still be working across other areas of graphic design where a project calls for it, but print is where I want to build my specialism and where I feel I can offer the most value.

A lot of my experience has involved taking large amounts of information, product details, imagery and promotional content and turning it into something that feels clear, attractive and easy to navigate.

That could mean structuring a 30-page product brochure, creating a new drinks menu, designing a set of promotional adverts or simply making sure a business card feels considered and professional.

It’s that combination of creativity and practical problem-solving that I really enjoy.

Design That Has a Purpose

For me, good print design isn’t just about making something look nice.

It has to work.

A brochure needs to guide the reader through the information. A menu needs to be easy to understand. An advert needs to communicate quickly. A business card needs to make the right impression without trying too hard.

Every piece has a job to do.

That’s the approach I want to bring to every print project: strong visual design, clear communication and a final piece that feels right for the business it represents.

A More Focused Direction

This isn’t really about changing what I do overnight.

It’s more about being clearer about the kind of work I want to do more of.

Print design has been a big part of my work for years, and some of the projects I’m most proud of have been brochures, portfolios, marketing campaigns, promotional adverts and other physical pieces.

Now I want that to be much more obvious.

You’ll start to see this reflected across my website, portfolio and social media as I showcase more of my print work and continue building out specialist services around brochures, menus, promotional design and branded printed materials.

Have Something in Mind?

If your business needs a new brochure, updated menu, promotional campaign, business cards or any other printed marketing material, I’d love to hear about it.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before getting in touch. Whether you already have a clear brief or simply know that your current materials need a refresh, we can work through the ideas and create something that feels professional, purposeful and genuinely represents your business.

For me, there’s still nothing quite like seeing a design leave the screen and become something real.

And that’s exactly where I want to put more of my focus.
